- This incident is probably the best example of why Amendment II is still relevant today. I'm a liberal who doesn't personally like guns but I think the young mother made the right choice when she shot and killed the intruder.

- Most liberals don't want to ban guns. We want to make it more difficult for people who shouldn't have guns to get them, like criminals and the mentally unstable. I don't like guns but I don't care if you have them. I just want you to have to go through all the correct and legal channels to get them.

- For all we know, they met and fell in love, while she was 18. Then she got pregnant and they got married. Maybe she's almost 19. My parents met, dated and got married in three short months after college.

- I worked for 6 years on the graveyard shift for a drugstore. In those 6 years, I was robbed at the register 5 times. Once, the robber had a knife, and another time the robber had a gun.

- Gabby's comprehension is more than adequate. She still has problems finding the right words but that doesn't mean she isn't in her right mind or unfit to remain in Congress. She was shot in the brain, remember? That requires a lot of physical therapy to recover. Give her a chance.

- Now that is an incredibly insensitive comment. It brings to mind the old adage: "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all." You're probably not from Tucson, I'd wager. It was a horrific event in our city. When I heard about it the morning it occurred, I was so angry I was shaking.

- News flash: it's not called "global warming." It's called "climate change." And it actually exists. Climate change, like evolution, can and has been proved using something called "science." Imagine that.

- Keith- Seriously? Bush sets up tax cuts for the wealthiest 1% of Americans and you're worried about Obama giving money to his rich friends?! Obama's "rich friends" want the tax cuts repealed. Also, Bush took more vacation than any modern-day president in history.

- The Democrats did not have enough of a majority in the Senate to get many of the things they and the American people wanted passed (Dem-50, Rep-49, Ind-1). Maybe you should be blaming the Republicans for that. And they don't have a majority in the House.
